Andalusia Range
The    RRPA    Andalusia    Range    maintains    a    good    working    relationship    with    the    Covington    County    Emergency Management   Agency   and   steps   up   to   provide   emergency   communications   when   the   need   arises. With   over   a   dozen current   members,   we   are   able   to   provide   the   Covington   County   Emergency   Management   Agency   with   backup communications, or primary comms if the situation calls for it. We're also available to provide communication services for any community event, if requested. Meetings: Monthly   meetings   are   held   on   the   third   Thursday   of   each   month   at   the   Andalusia   Municipal   Court   Room   102   Opp Ave.   in Andalusia, AL.   Meeting   time   is   6:00   PM.   Our   meetings   are   always   open   to   the   public   and   everyone   is   invited to attend. We greatly appreciate the City of Andalusia for allowing the use of their facilities. Weekly Net: The   RRPA Andalusia   Range   holds   a   weekly   net   on   the   WC4M   repeater   (147.260+   /   PL-100)   every   Thursday   evening at   7:00   PM.   We   pass   any   traffic   necessary   and   take   comments,   announcements,   etc.,   from   anyone   checking   in. Range   Warden Allen   Scofield   (KG4CNA)   is   the   Net   Controller   with   Lehn   Lambert   (N4GLL)   serving   as   backup.   No   net is called on meeting night. WC4M Repeater-147.260+/PL 100: Our   repeater   has   been   on   the   air   using   the   same   frequency   since   July   1996.   The   current   repeater   is   a   Kenwood TKR-750   and   is   located   on   the   west   side   of   Andalusia,   AL   near   the   Covington   County   Administration   Building.   We have   plans   to   move   the   repeater   to   a   better   location   soon   and   possibly   transition   to   solar   power.   We   would   like   to thank   Jay   Spurlin   at   S   &   P   Communications   in   Opp, AL   for   donating   this   repeater   and Aaron   Shirah   (KN4BHP)   for   his valuable   assistance   in   getting   it   set   up.   This   machine   replaced   an   older   Motorola   Micor   repeater   that   had   been   in service   for   many   years.   The   repeater   is   open   for   all   amateur's   to   use   and   requires   a   100   hz   tone   to   access   the machine. You can hear several people using the repeater most any evening. Feel free to jump in and talk with us!
